In short

As a service engineer, you are at the heart of our clients' dynamics. They rely on you as the specialist who understands their software, solves problems, and thinks ahead. You maintain close customer relationships, know the organization, and understand exactly what's going on: where the pain points are and what makes them happy. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that complex IT environments keep running 24/7. You prevent outages, make software smarter, and combine technology with problem-solving and (unsolicited) advice. You see the direct impact of your work, juggle multiple tasks, and work in a team that always has each other's backs. No two days are the same.

Working as a service engineer

Your primary task is the management and optimization of (industrial) software solutions. You keep applications and software systems up-to-date and provide advice on them. You minimize disruptions through preventive maintenance, and when disruptions do occur, you resolve them. Furthermore, you extend the lifespan of applications and improve the efficiency of business processes. As you can see, you monitor the entire process chain. This way, you ensure that clients continue to have access to a reliable, predictable, smart, and fast business process in a constantly changing landscape. Being on standby is part of the job, but because you plan this well together, you know exactly what to expect.

The more complex and innovative the industrial business-critical OT and/or IT environment is, the more you enjoy it. You love diversity in your work; every day is different. You switch between multiple domains, various technologies, and different business processes and software systems. You take management off the clients' hands and maintain the balance between investment and return. As an engineer, you continue to develop yourself. You often work with new technologies and attend training for these, but sometimes it's also 'learning on the job'.

What can you expect?

  • Plenty of freedom to shape your own role and opportunities to take on interesting projects.
  • A dynamic work environment, as ICT Group is in motion and continues to develop.
  • Development on both technical and personal levels through a good mix of training, certifications, and meetings focused on knowledge sharing.
  • Collaboration with colleagues from your field with whom you can share your knowledge and from whom you can learn.
