Technical skill meets musical talent

At ICT Group, Maurice van Dijk feels right at home as a software engineer in the Industry & Infra division. His daily work involves software development, PLCs, data applications, and SCADA systems—exactly the kind of work he’s passionate about and trained for.

But beyond his professional life, two other things play an important role: his children and his music. On 29 June, Maurice will be one of the performing artists at the benefit event ShowTime for Villa Pardoes at the Azijnfabriek in Den Bosch.

Help Maurice take the stage at Ahoy!

The performer who puts on the most spectacular show and raises the most money will win a spot on stage at Ahoy next year! Maurice is also giving away 10 free tickets for 29 June to his donors: https://www.voorvillapardoes.nl/fundraisers/maurice-van-dijk/donate

Maurice has been singing for as long as he can remember. “I sing every day, ever since I was a kid,” he laughs. He also plays the guitar and several other instruments. “Eventually, I started writing my own songs. Music is where I pour my heart and soul. It’s an outlet—I can’t live without it.” For many, music remains a hobby. But for Maurice, it has become a second career. “My work gives me a strong foundation. ICT Group is a large company where I can continue to grow professionally. At the same time, it feels very personal and supportive, especially because of my great colleagues.” That stability allows him to build his musical career on the side. He spends evenings and weekends in the studio or performing—while also caring for his children. “This way, I’m able to balance the three most important pillars in my life,” says Maurice.

ShowTime for Villa Pardoes

The most important people in Maurice’s life are, of course, his children. His son has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Maurice explains, “That’s how I got in touch with Villa Pardoes—a special holiday retreat for families with seriously ill children. There, your child is no longer ‘the patient’, but can relax and simply enjoy quality time with the family.” Maurice wants other families to experience the same joy. That’s why he’s performing alongside other artists at ShowTime for Villa Pardoes on 29 June in the Azijnfabriek in Den Bosch. “It’s going to be a spectacular event,” Maurice expects. “We’ll be backed by the Marcel Fisser Band, known from the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers. The evening will be hosted by well-known musician and Villa Pardoes ambassador Alain Clark.” Each artist aims to raise at least €3,000 for Villa Pardoes. Ticket proceeds will also go directly to the cause. With €3,000, one family can enjoy a full week’s holiday at Villa Pardoes.

Giving and receiving

“I’m really grateful that ICT Group gives me the space to share my story,” says Maurice. “And I appreciate how my colleagues respond to my son’s illness—they show genuine interest and never shy away from the conversation.” He’s truly looking forward to the show. “I won’t be performing one of my own songs. We’ve all chosen well-known songs that resonate with children. I’ll be doing a track by Douwe Bob.” What advice does he have for colleagues who want to support a good cause? Maurice doesn’t hesitate: “I have great admiration for anyone who takes action for a cause they care about. Follow your heart—it’s incredibly rewarding.”
