Since 2022, Herman van der Linden has been working at ICT TriOpSys, part of ICT Group. He contributes to IT solutions for the police, fire department, and ambulance services, such as systems for emergency response centers. Precision is crucial in this field, as any malfunction can have direct consequences for safety and lives. And that's exactly what motivates Herman.
With specialized knowledge of mission-critical systems within Defence & Aerospace, Public Safety & Security, and Traffic Management, ICT TriOpSys serves a wide range of clients. Together with his close colleagues, Herman primarily works for clients that are crucial for the safety of our society: emergency response centers (112), as well as public organizations such as the Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund. “These clients are a good fit for me. It’s work where you’re constantly aware of how important it is that everything functions properly,” says Herman. “If the IT is not up to standard, it can cost lives. We are always conscious of that.” This responsibility demands high-quality standards and a secure way of working. “For us, it’s: think first, then act. Sometimes, you need to pause and carefully consider the consequences of your actions. To do this job, you need to have an eye for detail and a strong focus on quality. Everything must work flawlessly, 24/7.”
"The great thing about my work is that you're constantly focused on innovation and improvement. Repetitive work doesn't suit me; I want to keep developing myself. Fortunately, at ICT TriOpSys, we are given plenty of opportunities to take the next step, and for me, that step is towards architecture."
Upcoming Architect
As a senior systems specialist and aspiring architect, Herman focuses on connecting systems so they can communicate smoothly with each other. As an architect, Herman works with the client to map out needs and translate them into customized solutions. "Together with my colleagues, we ensure that systems work seamlessly together and meet strict requirements for reliability, availability, and security. By integrating new technologies and continuously innovating, we ensure that the solutions remain future-proof," Herman explains.
Close-knit Team with a Mission
In addition to the technical challenges, Herman praises the atmosphere within the company. "We do it together. Within our team, specialists are ready to resolve issues at night or on weekends in case of emergencies. No one would want it any other way because our customers do work that is too important." Collegiality and service orientation are very characteristic of ICT TriOpSys." There is also room for connection outside of work.

What We Do Matters
Since the beginning of 2024, ICT TriOpSys has been part of ICT Group. "The sense of 'we' is growing," says Herman. For Herman, the societal impact of his work remains the biggest motivator. "What we do matters. Whether it’s the systems behind 112 or other safety organizations, it just has to be right. We all know what’s at stake, and that motivates us every day."
